Job Purpose and Summary

The primary function of the BIM Modeler 1 is to produce 3D models of architectural, structural and MEP systems to be used for project visualization and planning, prefab, field layout, and interference detection with other trades.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the projects with BIM capabilities
      • Decipher plans and understand the needs of the project
      • Create detailed 3D models of architectural, structural, and MEP systems
      • Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP models to identify and resolve collisions with other trades
      • Create prefabrication drawings for production
      • Produce 3D printed models of architectural, structural, and MEP systems
      • Generate point lists from the models to be used for field layout with robotic total station
  • Assist the Virtual Design and Construction Team in developing the long term BIM strategy

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Must have one year of experience with Revit and AutoCad software
  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred
  • Highly organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to set and achieve goals
  • Ability to manage time to meet deadlines efficiently and willingness to do what it takes to meet the deadline
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are imperative; communication is made within and outside of the company
  • Handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, as well as any changes
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability to visualize projects in 3D
  • Strong understanding of software and ability to learn new software
  • Analytical skills
  • Training will be both on the job and in the classroom as needed
