Tapani was selected to transform an existing 40-acre farm into a 116-lot subdivision in Clark County near Vancouver, Wash. The project included demolishing existing building and barns, and excavating 70,000 cubic yards. New infrastructure with new roads, curbs and sidewalks were installed. Tapani also installed all the utilities, including water, storm sewer, and a deep sewer pump station.
The most challenging portion of the project was installing the sanitary sewer pipe, which was over 20 feet deep. The sanitary sewer pipe required much time and skill to be correctly installed at such a depth. Another challenge was the overabundant amount of groundwater on the site and in the deep trenches. An existing cow manure pond/lagoon had to be decommissioned, and proved to be a big challenge.
