Cowlitz County Fire Station

Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue Firestation 22 was outdated and failed to meet the current need for a full 24-hour serviced fire station. To increase service capacity for the City of Longview, our crews built a modernly designed 7,440 square-foot fire station featuring living space for up to six firefighters, an apparatus bay with a holding capacity for four emergency response vehicles, and training and public outreach spaces. The work included demolition of the existing firestation, new storm, sewer, and water utilities, subgrade stabilization piles, a bioretention facility, wood frame building construction with acoustical framing, paving, landscape work, the enhancement  of an existing wetland buffer and road right of way improvements. The fire station features a 12” foundation slab with increased steel reinforcement designed to accommodate the weight of the emergency response vehicles, wood slat ceilings, an exposed cedar entryway, and the installation of high-end appliances.
