The Green River Natural Resource Area South Stormwater Pump Station Project was designed to divert peak stormwater surface water flows from areas of the city south of James Street directly West to the Green River. This project allowed additional capacity to provide treatment to surface water flows North of James Street and East of 64th Avenue.
The Project consisted of installing a stormwater pump station with two pumps and related hardware to connect to an existing 30-inch diameter HDPE force main. The project also included installation of a back-up power generator, shelters for the pump station, control systems, a maintenance garage building, a concrete diversion structure along the 64th Avenue drainage channel, a concrete culvert to route stormwater to the pump station, and the installation of another concrete bypass structure and 30-inch diameter gravity sewer piping near Hogan Park to improve drainage in that area.
