The 99th Street Trenchless Project for Clark Regional Wastewater District in NE Vancouver, WA provided new gravity sewer line infrastructure to the point where the current force main line and pump station was failing, an economical alternative to replacing the entire pump station. Working along North East 99th Street West of the intersection on 105th, our crews installed 1,100 feet of 42-inch steel casing and 24-inch HDPE sewer pipe using trenchless Jack and Bore methods. We partnered with Pipe Jacking Trenchless, Inc to safely and successfully maneuver the pipe into place. Utilizing the Jack and Bore method required excavation of four, in-road shaft launch and receiving pits ranging from 26-35 feet deep, located in both neighborhood and intersection settings. With shaft installation located along the centerline of the roadways with varying ground conditions and numerous pre-existing underground utilities within three feet on all sides, our crews set up road detours to maintain open shaft work and used slide rail, dewatering, and a specialty clam bucket to ensure a safe, productive, and on-schedule delivery of the project.
