Bus Rapid Transit Fourth Plain Corridor

Fourth Plain Boulevard is one of the busiest transit corridors in Vancouver, WA, averaging nearly two million vehicular trips annually and often experiencing frequent overcrowding and delays due to limited car lanes. In response to these issues, C-TRAN launched the region’s first bus rapid transit system, The Vine, in January 2017. The Vine uses larger buses, level boarding platforms and other features in order to reduce travel time, improve reliability and control costs.

As the general contractor on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Fourth Plain Corridor project, our crews constructed 33 bus stations extending from downtown Vancouver approximately four miles to NE Vancouver’s Vancouver Mall Drive. Work included road improvements, drainage improvements, utility relocation, traffic signals, illumination, road widening, median construction, landscaping and irrigation.
