The East Irrigation Project spans eight miles from the Columbia River Gorge into northeast Oregon’s Umatilla Basin, aiming to relieve pressure on underground aquifers for farmers. It taps into the Columbia River east of Hermiston, supplying water to over 26,500 acres of farmland. We oversaw all three project contracts, including the installation of 78” and 66” welded steel pipelines. Crews encountered rocky terrain along the pipeline route, necessitating blasting and material crushing.
