Civil Site Development

Franklin Elementary is a public school located in downtown Vancouver that serves as the only Mandarin immersion program in SW Washington – serving foreign exchange students, military families, bi-lingual families, and families who want their children to learn Mandarin. Due to the growing interest in the school several portables were needed to house students. Tapani partnered with Vancouver Public Schools and Bassetti Architects to construct two additions at the existing school for a total of 9 new classrooms in an effort to eliminate portable classrooms. Additional improvements included a new roof over the entire school, remodel of existing classrooms, additional bathrooms, and an upgrade to the HVAC, electrical, and fire sprinkler systems. Site work included new sidewalks, an expanded parking lot and student drop off areas as well as new utilities.
