We performed the site work as a subcontractor for Skanska on this 918,000 square foot distribution center located in Portland, OR. This project consisted of 8,500 cubic yards of sand haul off, 78,000 tons of rock placement, 25,000 feet of pipe installation, and 72 acres of grading, including 24.5 acres of parking lot. Because the utilities were being installed close to sea level, utility installation required significant dewatering. A time sensitive aspect of the project was the 48” Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) tie-in under the railroad tracks requiring the railroad to be shut down for two weeks while sheet pile was driven in for shoring and railroad tracks were removed and replaced. This project also included the installation of some large water quality panel vaults and stormwater filtration vaults.
