The Slow Sands Media Replacement project involved the removal and replacement of sand in two filter beds at the NCCWC treatment plant, restoring the filter bed depth to at least 36 inches. Approximately 4,400 cubic yards of sand were replaced, with 4,000 tons of new filter sand.
