USPS Distribution Center

Tapani Inc worked collaboratively on this design-build project to assist in providing a new 788,845 square foot Processing and Distribution Center, along with a new 29,000 square foot Vehicle Maintenance Facility for the United States Postal Service. Working alongside the general contractor, The Korte Company, and Engineer, KPFF, Tapani was able to help keep the project within budget by providing a VE idea that changed the order of the proposed surcharge sequencing. This helped cut down on the cost and installation time of 19,500 linear feet of pipe, 150,000 tons of aggregate placement, and 130,000 CY surcharge of the proposed building pad. Tapani also played a critical role in cost savings by conducting a thorough analysis of pipe materials, longevity, and utility layouts, ultimately minimizing the proposed pipe quantities by designing an efficient utility layout.
