West Biddle Dam Replacement

The West Biddle Lake Dam project involved demolishing and reconstructing a failing historic dam to support the WDFW fish hatchery. Tapani showcased collaboration and value engineering by partnering early with the engineer and owner. The new 98 foot dam, resembling the original, now features a spillway and crossing. Highlights include working within a single-season fish window, self-performed demolition of the old dam, constructing the new dam with a 260 linear-foot 20” raceway waterline, a pedestrian bridge, and environmental restoration. This ecologically significant area supports diverse wildlife and a century-long tradition of fish rearing.
